I really enjoyed your Guyana site. I am doing some geneology and found that my great grandfather from Scotland was ordained in Halifax, Nova Scotia, then went on to Guyana in about l857. I have no idea what he was doing there, but could have been a missio
ary, a teacher of perhaps on some UK gov't position. His name was George W. Harper. I am writing you to inquire how I might go about trying to find out what he was doing there and where, how long he stayed,etc. The only clue I have is that in some old re

I am a native to the midwestern US and moved to the New York/New Jersery area for employment. There, I fell in love with a native Guyanese (Eat Indian descent) who still has relatives in the Georgetown area. Your page has given me more insight into the
rea than I could pick up from her family members. They are impressed with my knowledge of the area and, even more so, with my desire to learn something near to their heart. I am proud to say that I will be marrying this woman in September.
Again, I thank you for providing a page that allows me to see where the love of my life came from and allows me to keep up with events that affect the lives of family members still in country.
